Living Community: Building Belonging in Kula (and beyond!) with Niké Aurea

This workshop will be held via zoom as well as live-streamed from the studio. Check your email for a zoom link 1 day before and 1 hour before the session. You are welcome to come to the studio to join a live stream in community with snacks!

Facilitator
Niké Aurea is an inclusion educator, consultant, podcaster -- and your new disruptor bestie. Her passion for inclusion, empowerment, and safe spaces has been the catalyst of creating this space. She teaches the skill of inclusion and community building while also affirming your powerful soul.

She believes in taking action, but also doing it in your own way. No one is allowed to dictate how you show up, and your safety comes first.


Overview
Topics discussed in this event are designed to support Kula cultivate a strong, inclusive community culture from the very beginning. Together, we will explore what it truly means to live as a community member, moving beyond the language of community to its daily application. The session will highlight inclusivity, continuous education, and belonging, while also addressing common challenges such as perfectionism and the transactional nature of relationships in the wellness space.

Objectives
By the end of this workshop, participants will:

  • Understand the difference between being part of a studio and actively engaging as a community member.

  • Explore how personal boundaries and accountability practices strengthen the collective culture.

  • Identify ways teachers and members can co-create an inclusive and supportive environment.

  • Reflect on perfectionism and transactional patterns, and learn practices that shift toward care and connection.

Workshop Outline

  • Welcome and Framing: Introductions, grounding practice, and setting intentions.

  • What We Mean by Community: Defining “community” vs “community member” and reflecting on what community means personally.

  • Inclusivity and Belonging: Discussing daily practices of inclusion and reflection on what creates belonging.

  • Perfectionism and Transactional Culture: Exploring how these show up in wellness communities and shifting toward connection.

  • Boundaries and Accountability: Seeing boundaries as care and accountability as shared responsibility.

  • Application and Co-Creation: Group activity brainstorming practices and commitments that build community at Kula.

  • Closing and Next Steps: Reflections, commitments, and affirming the beginning of a culture rooted in belonging.
