This workshop will be held via zoom as well as live-streamed from the studio. Check your email for a zoom link 1 day before and 1 hour before the session. You are welcome to come to the studio to join a live stream in community with snacks!
Facilitator
Niké Aurea is an inclusion educator, consultant, podcaster -- and your new disruptor bestie. Her passion for inclusion, empowerment, and safe spaces has been the catalyst of creating this space. She teaches the skill of inclusion and community building while also affirming your powerful soul.
She believes in taking action, but also doing it in your own way. No one is allowed to dictate how you show up, and your safety comes first.
Overview
Topics discussed in this event are designed to support Kula cultivate a strong, inclusive community culture from the very beginning. Together, we will explore what it truly means to live as a community member, moving beyond the language of community to its daily application. The session will highlight inclusivity, continuous education, and belonging, while also addressing common challenges such as perfectionism and the transactional nature of relationships in the wellness space.
Objectives
By the end of this workshop, participants will:
Understand the difference between being part of a studio and actively engaging as a community member.
Explore how personal boundaries and accountability practices strengthen the collective culture.
Identify ways teachers and members can co-create an inclusive and supportive environment.
Reflect on perfectionism and transactional patterns, and learn practices that shift toward care and connection.
Workshop Outline
Welcome and Framing: Introductions, grounding practice, and setting intentions.
What We Mean by Community: Defining “community” vs “community member” and reflecting on what community means personally.
Inclusivity and Belonging: Discussing daily practices of inclusion and reflection on what creates belonging.
Perfectionism and Transactional Culture: Exploring how these show up in wellness communities and shifting toward connection.
Boundaries and Accountability: Seeing boundaries as care and accountability as shared responsibility.
Application and Co-Creation: Group activity brainstorming practices and commitments that build community at Kula.
Closing and Next Steps: Reflections, commitments, and affirming the beginning of a culture rooted in belonging.

Join Dr. Bailey HG — PhD in Neuroscience and proud holder of an honorary degree in Booty Shaking — for a high-energy 90-minute workshop that blends science, rhythm, and pure joy. You’ll break down essential twerknique, build confidence through guided combos, and finish with a collective dance sequence that leaves you feeling empowered, liberated, and all around vibrant.
Class will consist of:

About the Faciilitator:
Dr. Bailey is a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard whose research examines mental health, brain development, and childhood adversity. She received her PhD in Neuroscience from Yale University, where she passionately taught 90+ sold-out twerk and heels dance classes to over 400 students. Dr. Bailey is currently based in Boston where she continues to teach sold-out twerk and heels classes. Dr. Bailey's classes are an inclusive, supportive, and non-judgmental dance environment, open to all gender identities and dance experience levels. Her goal and top priority as a dance teacher is to cultivate a safe space where students can build confidence, celebrate their bodies, release stress, and connect through community.

An evening to nourish body, heart, and our community.
Join Riley from @loveandlightwellnessvt for a slow, fluid yoga flow that melts into stillness — supported by the soothing tones of a live sound bath. Together, we’ll breathe, soften, and tune in to the quiet rhythm of giving and receiving.
This class is offered by donation to support Feeding Champlain Valley, helping to fill both plates and hearts within our community. This is an especially important cause as SNAP benefits have been suspended. and folks who normally rely on EBT benefits will need to turn to food pantries for alternative support.
