Shuffle Dance Series
If you don’t know, shuffle is a fast-paced, up-tempo style of dancing that is focused on what looks like fancy footwork, but when you learn it at a slower tempo, is accessible to everyone. What makes it exciting is when you start to speed it up…that’s when it looks and feels like magic, and it also becomes great exercise. It’s fun to see other people do it, and even more fun to do it yourself while dancing with friends!
If you look online, there are lots of “extreme” shuffling you can find, but what we will working on is more accessible fun…the Shuffle Mamas on Instagram are a good example of what I’m talking about. 🙂
In This Series You’ll:
Learn the fundamental steps of Shuffle Dance
Practice short combinations and choreography
Work up to a fully choreographed routine
Enjoy dancing as a whole group, as well as in pairs and individually
Let loose, reduce inhibitions, and move with confidence
FAQs
This sounds fun, but I don’t have any experience? That’s fine! This is geared toward beginners.
Do I need to bring a partner, or can I sign-up on my own? Either. We will be dancing as a big class, and sometimes in smaller groups of two or three people. Definitely bringing a friend would be great. We will be mainly dancing all together in a fun shuffle community.
Do I need any kind of special shuffle shoes? This is a great question. For our class we will be dancing in socks. Of course, out on the dance floor at a concert, in does help to have shoes that can slide easily on the floor and are light, but you can really dance in practically any shoes.
Whether you’re a total beginner or already love to dance, everyone is welcome!
By the end, you’ll be ready to shuffle at your favorite concert, festival, or night out — and shine like a star on the dance floor. ?
Don’t just stand there — dance!
